Goals
In
all of our activities we are guided by three main goals:
To
improve the quality of children's and youth travel and exchange programs
according to principles of intercultural understanding, social and
ecological sustainability, as well as physical and mental health and
wellbeing, in each case taking into consideration current youth cultures
To
facilitate dialogue and networking between individual experts and
organizations, in order to overcome personal and institutional barriers,
to mediate mutual insights and understanding, and to initiate continuous
discourse and cooperation
To
provide useful services for experts, professionals, and volunteers in
children's and youth travel and exchange organizations.
In
pursuit of these goals we organize, support and facilitate joint
projects and networks, frequently cooperating with various partners, in
order to achieve synergy effects from the diversity of perspectives and
approaches. |

Projects
Training
Seminars for Youth Travel and International Exchange
Each
year transfer offers 12 to 15 in-service training seminars in
cooperation with IJAB, the International Youth Exchange and Visitor
Service of the German Federation. This
program has been funded by the Federal Ministry of Youth since 1986,
initially under the label of "Model Seminars", and provides
high-quality training for volunteers and staff at moderate fees.
Information
& Consultation Days
Each year transfer organizes a series of day workshops in different
cities throughout Germany, sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Youth.
In cooperation with local partners our team of experts presents
current developments and gives individual advice on all aspects of
children's and youth travel and of international youth exchanges.
Partnership
Program "Social Sponsoring in Khayelitsha Township/South Africa"
In close cooperation with Cape Mental Health, a welfare organization in
Cape Town, transfer has supported projects for handicapped people in
Khayelitsha Township since 1997 and has organized bilateral exchanges
for social workers. In
Germany, we have built a network with organizations for disabled people,
for youth work, youth exchange, and adult education in order to share
successful program elements and to develop them further in a mutual
learning process together with South African experts.
